At the Table with Mettler Winery

We are thrilled to share this quarter’s Member Feature from one of our favorite wineries, Mettler Winery. Family-owned and operated from the Judean Hills of Israel, Daniel Elliott had the privilege of sitting down with co-founders and winemakers, Heinz and Leah Metter recently to hear more of who they are. A boutique, family winery producing just 5,000 bottles a year, Mettler is one of the smallest wineries that we work with in Israel, and we were honored to import them into the U.S. for the first time ever. This is the longest Member Feature we’ve ever produced (a 31-minute run time) because we wanted you to feel like you were in Israel...

But more importantly, they have become our good friends. In addition being the founders and winemakers, Leah is a painter who creates the beautiful labels for each bottle.

This is the longest Member Feature we’ve ever produced (a 31-minute run time) because we wanted you to feel like you were in Israel, sitting with us at the table having a wine tasting with Heinz and Leah. So grab a glass of wine (you’re receiving a bottle of Mettler Nitzan 2019 in your box or case this quarter!) and a loved one and enjoy feeling like you’re in the Judean Hills as you watch! Their story and dedication to their craft inspire us, and we think you’ll enjoy learning more about what makes them so special.

In this video, discover: how the Mettler Winery takes meticulous care of their grapes—a testament to their deep respect for nature and their craft; their commitment to producing wines that are as natural and untampered as possible; how they’ve embraced challenges and approaches each vintage as an opportunity to learn and grow; how they came around a community in pain after October 7 and brought comfort through wine, food, art, and “hurting together”, and despite many difficulties this past year and a half in Israel, their positivity and determination remain steadfast.

To us, Mettler Winery is more than a business partner—they are family. We encourage you to take time to watch this conversational “at the table” video that beautifully captures the heart and soul of Mettler Winery.
